It happens that I am searching through the website on Bintan and I chanced on a few forums saying that Bintan is not suitable for beach visits or snorkeling or diving. Stating it is more for the golfers!

Due to this sighting that makes me wanna make this post... as justice has to be given to Bintan!

Let me show you the whole of Bintan map...

To the north of Bintan are the well known resorts throughout the world for golfing.

The area is for the high-class people to spend their money and the resorts there are really beautiful, but not the beaches. The waters there are dirty due to the movement of the ferries.

Same for the western side of Bintan, where ferries come in and out.

For the eastern side of Bintan, it is all different! The long stretch of beach there is called Pantai Trikora Beach, one of the nicest beaches of the island! The sand is white and the sea water is of crystal clear. Along with the coconut trees and the quiet and relaxing atmosphere, it is a good place to switch off from the busy city life.

You can even go for snorkeling or scuba diving at the nearby islands to see the rich ocean life!

The life at the eastern Bintan is like a village life.... the resorts there are simple and decent... mostly made from woods.... the whole stretch of the beach houses a group of resorts... from the mid-range Agro beach resort to the budget kind of resort, Pondok Wisata Susy.
